“The American Troubadour” Don McLean will stop by the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts on the campus of Trine University on Saturday, May 18, for what is sure to be a night of hits, fun, and nostalgia.

The 78-year-old McLean is best known for his iconic hit “American Pie,” which refers to the 1959 plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper, and Richie Valens and is known as “the day the music died.” But McLean has had other hits including “Vincent,” “Dreidel,” and “Wonderful Baby” as well as his rendition of another iconic hit, Roy Orbison’s “Crying.”

He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018.
