Fort Wayne Youtheatre will host another chapter in their Young Heroes series by presenting Baghdad Zoo at First Presbyterian Theater, March 3-5, with a sensory-friendly performance on March 4.
This story takes place right as coalition forces invade Iraq in the hunt for Saddam Hussein. Separated from their parents, five children take cover from the bombs and search for water and food, eventually finding themselves taking refuge in the Baghdad Zoo where they find animals abandoned in their cages.
An impactful presentation that hits on a number of levels, this story of children making the animals’ survival as important as their own will be a moving experience for all theater-goers.
Based on true events, this may not be suited for younger children and is only recommended for first graders and older.
