Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech will be the focal point of Back to the Mountaintop: Remembering Dr. King Through Unity & Melody on Wednesday, April 3, at Embassy Theatre.

The evening promoting community harmony will center around a recitation of King’s speech presented by the Rev. Bill McGill.

The event also features a world-class gospel music portion with scheduled performances by two-time Grammy winner Pastor Smokie Norful and Karen Clark Sheard, a four-time Grammy winner who was recently awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award with The Clark Sisters. On top of her singing prowess, Clark Sheard is also the First Lady of the Church of God in Christ International, the largest Pentecostal denomination in the world.
