Patsy Cline was one of the first country artists to cross over into the pop genre and is largely considered to be one of the most influential voices of the last century.

Cline had several major hits during her eight-year recording career, including two No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot Country and Western Sides chart.

Tragically, she died in 1963 at the age of 30 as a result of a plane crash.

Always … Patsy Cline, presented Aug. 10-19 at Wagon Wheel Theatre in Warsaw, is based on a true story about Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in 1961 and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death.

The show features 27 Cline songs, including most of her hits like “Crazy,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “Walking After Midnight.”

The show’s title was inspired by Cline’s letters to Seger, which were consistently signed “Love ALWAYS … Patsy Cline.”
