The Fort Wayne Philharmonic recently added Home Alone in Concert to their 2020-21 schedule as part of their contribution to the holiday season.
The film, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, has become a family favorite and will kick off the Phil’s holiday fun on Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. This familiar classic features another amazing John Williams score.
The showing comes after the Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 performances of the soundtrack of the popular Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
As associate conductor Caleb Young said in the press release, “I’m absolutely thrilled to conduct Home Alone in Concert next season. I think people connect to the heartwarming and hilarious story but also feel a strong connection to the soundtrack. John Williams masterfully crafts emotions of nostalgia, love, and Christmas, all into this stunning music.”
True crime podcast
True crime has taken the country by storm with network news magazines like Dateline and 48 Hours having completely morphed into true crime investigations. Several cable networks are devoted 24/7 to the subject, and dozens upon dozens of podcasts have served this insatiable appetite.
On April 10, two of those podcasters, Ashley Flowers and Brit Prawat of Indianapolis, bring their popular Crime Junkie show to the Embassy Theatre for a night of detective work and speculation as they present a never before discussed case with the audience.
Sure to entertain those who want to move from the sidelines into the fray, Crime Junkie starts at 8 p.m. that Friday evening. Tickets are on sale now.
