If you had Paul Simon on your Summer Concert Bingo card, you are a winner. The legendary singer-songwriter is coming out of retirement for an expansive tour that includes three shows at Symphony Center in Chicago, May 21 and May 23-24.

Just two years ago, Simon feared he would never be able to perform live again after suffering severe hearing loss while recording his 2023 album, Seven Psalms. However, after getting treatment and advice, the 83-year-old found a viable solution which included repositioning the monitors on stage in a specific way.

Anyone who watched Simon performed live on SNL’s 50th anniversary special, teaming up with Sabrina Carpenter for a duet of “Homeward Bound,” got an early glimpse of how this experience may sound.

During A Quiet Celebration Tour, Simon will present several songs from Seven Psalms, as well as perform a celebration of his timeless classics.

Musical acts set for Carb Day

The 2025 Miller Lite Carb Day Concert will be co-headlined by Bret Michaels and The All-American Rejects on Friday, May 23, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Traditionally, Carb Day is a full day of on- and off-track action and entertainment, including concerts and the final practice for the Indianapolis 500.

“Miller Lite Carb Day is not just the official party to kick off race weekend, it’s really the kickoff event of the summer,” IMS President J. Douglas Boles said in the press release. “The day has everything to make the perfect party: 33 drivers in the final practice before the ‘500,’ the Pit Stop Challenge, people watching, and a fun and entertaining concert to put an exclamation point on the party. It really is a day like no other at the Racing Capital of the World.”

Mumford & Sons in Chicago

Mumford & Sons make their return to the road with just nine dates, including a visit to the Chicago Theatre on March 22.

The band will release Rushmere, their first album in seven years, on March 28.

Rushmere is the place where it all began for Mumford & Sons. The pond, located on Wimbledon Common in southwest London, is where Ben Lovett, Marcus Mumford, and Ted Dwane imagined the initial idea of putting a band together.

“We have so many new songs to share with the world and this Tour Before the Tour is far from the extent of our shows in 2025,” Lovett said in a press release.

Zac Brown in Toledo

The Memorial Day weekend may have a new tradition as Zac Brown Band have been tapped to headline Glass City Live, a new summer concert event hosted at Glass Bowl Stadium on the campus of the University of Toledo.

Described as “Toledo’s newest and largest annual music event,” the show will take place May 24 with Dustin Lynch, Luke Grimes, and Gaelic Storm on the undercard.

This will be the first major concert to be held at Glass Bowl Stadium since July 1, 1994, when The Beach Boys and America performed.
