Has 2018 been a good year for you? Perhaps it was a year filled with positive vibes or, then again, a year you would like to quickly put behind you.
Either way, The Legendary Trainhoppers are making sure we all go out on a positive note. On Friday, Dec. 28, The B-Side at One Lucky Guitar will be the setting for 2018 Kiss-Off, an official sayonara to another year with some good old music in the intimate setting of The B-Side. Sign me up!
With the successful year the guys have had thus far, this event only makes sense. As a matter of fact, they performed such events as the Botanical Roots Concert Series, Stoney Fest, Warm & Cozy, Artlink’s Anniversary Party, Rattle the Barn, and opening for The Charlie Daniels Band among a myriad of others.
The 2018 Kiss-Off event will get under way at 8:30 p.m. and will feature an array of old and new Trainhoppers numbers as well as cuts from Paul Simon’s joyous Graceland album. As a bonus, they will be joined that evening by elle/the Remnant. This is an all age’s affair with tickets available through Eventbrite for $10.
A Christmas Story Trivia Night
By now, many of us have already begun to see an array of Christmas shows on the tube. I know in my household, A Charlie Brown Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer have already had their run. One particular Christmas classic that I’m certain we’ll all be engaged with during the holiday season is A Christmas Story. Have you watched this 1983 classic so many times that you think you have it memorized? You can test yourself on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m. when Sweet Lou’s Pizza, 1235 E. State Blvd., hosts A Christmas Story Trivia Night.
Do you know what little Ralphie wanted for Christmas or what happened to the Parker family’s Christmas turkey? If so, gather up a team and head down for what is sure to be an entertaining evening. If you are up to the challenge, reserve your table now by calling 260-483-7220. In addition, if you have a pair of pink bunny pajamas, this would be the opportune time to wear them.
New Year’s at the Philmore
The APQ-Harmonic and Will Certain will be ushering in the New Year at the Philmore on Broadway on Monday, Dec. 31. If you haven’t made your NYE plans as of yet, this should be highly in consideration.
There will be a heavy hors d’oeuvres buffet, NYE party favors, a champagne toast at midnight, a late breakfast “fourth meal,” and of course, live music. Food and beverage will be supplied by Don Hall’s Catering, so you know it’s going to be top-notch. Tickets are currently available through Eventbrite.
