After nearly a decade, the owner of Neat Neat Neat Records is calling it a day. Morrison Agen recently made the announcement that he was looking to sell the store in order to focus on his new adventure in life with building a consumer audio company.

Luckily, it didn’t take long for someone to step up to the plate and purchase the Calhoun Street gem: the Wooden Nickel franchise. But don’t worry. The Neat Neat Neat name and branding will remain the same as well as the focus of keeping the heartbeat of vinyl alive.

Running the ship will be Chris Roets who many know as general manager of the Jefferson Boulevard Wooden Nickel location and former owner of Entourage Music which was located in Glenbrook Mall. With plenty of experience in the biz, Roets is ready to take the reins as the new general manager, expand inventory, and make a few aesthetic changes to the store. Exciting times for sure. Good luck to both Chris and Morrison!

Record Store Day in November

Roets won’t have much time to catch his breath as Neat Neat Neat will be hosting Record Store Day Black Friday on Nov. 29. While some folks will be lining up in front of department stores to get door buster deals on TV’s, video game consoles, and other smart household gadgets, music collectors will be lined up to get their hands on exclusive vinyl releases.

Starting at 8 a.m., stop in to score some of these releases for yourself or that music lover on your Christmas list. While flipping through vinyl, you will also be able to enjoy a cash bar and live music kicking off at 2 p.m. from The Bel Airs, David Todoran, C.A.B., Tuesday Atlas, and Flamingo Nosebleed.

In addition, all three Wooden Nickel locations will be celebrating Record Store Day Black Friday with more than 140 limited-edition vinyl LP’s, giveaways, and 96.3 XKE’s Doc West on site.

A couple of the items they will be giving away are a box set of Metallica’s …and Justice For All and a Victoria Hampton Bluetooth Turntable.
