Fans were stunned when the word broke that Here Come the Mummies canceled their performance at this year’s Three Rivers Festival.
The funk act’s guitarist Mummy Cass was involved in an accident, sustaining injuries that prevented him from performing.
The guitarist has been released from the hospital and is recovering, but the band doesn’t want to rush him back into action. In fact, the band canceled a show last week in Madison, Wis.
But the good news is a few days after the cancellation, The Clyde announced that the Mummies would be coming on Friday, Oct. 11. Awesome!
With that being said, get ready as these ancient artists are about to put the “fun” in “funk.”

Digging the Corpses
The local horror punk outfit The Lurking Corpses are ready to make a statement with their newly reformed lineup.
Vocalist Lord Vladimir Von Ghoul and bassist The Nameless Horror have reunited with former guitarist Pharaoh Formaldehyde and have recruited new drummer Killford Grimley.
Their first show will take place on Saturday, Sept. 7, at The Ruin when they share the stage with the mysterious rockabilly icon knowns as Unknown Hinson.

Crossover Thrash at Fort Wayne Indoor
Considered by many to be one of the fathers of crossover thrash, a movement that combined thrash with hardcore punk, D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) are nearing their 30th anniversary as a band.
With two remaining original members, D.R.I. continue to tour sporadically and keep promising that new music is on the horizon. Their last album, Full Speed Ahead, was released in 1995, a year after I graduated high school.
Regardless of whether there will be anything new to present, the Fort Wayne Indoor is the place you’ll want to be on Sunday, Sept. 15, to witness these musical legends.
