Despite taking a year off, the organizers of Middle Waves assured us of “high fives and good times coming in 2020.”
Those words appear to hold weight after the recent lineup announcement at Mad Anthony Brewing. Middle Waves will relocate from its previous setting of Headwaters Park and take over the grounds of the Electric Works east campus and McCullouch Park on the weekend of June 12 and 13.
During the two-day span, concertgoers will enjoy an eclectic mix of 20-plus performers including indie rockers Cold War Kids and Big Boi, formerly one half of hip-hop duo OutKast, as headliners.
Interestingly, I had the pleasure of seeing Cold War Kids in January while visiting Minneapolis. That evening, they performed to a sold-out venue. One can only hope that Fort Wayne gives them the same love come June.
Other touring acts on the bill are English roots rocker Yola, Canadian indie pop act Kiwi Jr., the alternative pop group Miki Fiki, the Chicago-raised songwriter Ezra Furman, the Michigan sextet Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers, contemporary blues and folk singer Amythyst Kiah, the eclectically chaotic husband-and-wife duo *repeat repeat, and local hero Addison Agen.
Of course, our thriving local music scene will be on display as well with performances by Debutants, LUBS, Mic Strong, Necromoon, Overlook, Rogues and Bandits, swimmingintoview, Thematic, Tuesday Atlas, Uncle Muscle, and Stay Outside (Indianapolis).
The eclectic mix of performers will perform on two paid stages and one free stage.
Single-day and two-day passes are available online at middlewaves.com. “VVIP” passes are also available and include an array of goodies including dinner on both nights, premium viewing experiences, drink ticket for each day, swag bag, air-conditioned bathrooms, an ice cream party, festival hair braiding, and more.

Minnick opens for the Accidentals
If you plan on attending The Accidentals show at C2G Music Hall on Saturday, March 7, at 8 p.m., then you best be on time as you won’t want to miss the opening act.
Setting the mood for the evening will be local singer-
songwriter Grace Minnick.
“I’ve looked up to them for years,” an excited Minnick said about The Accidentals. “Their creativity and versatility in their arrangements, lyrics, and stage presence is so inspiring.”

St. Patrick’s Day downtown
Soltre, The Ragtag Bunch, The Mighty McGuiggans, and Debutants are all set to perform at J.K. O’Donnell’s for St. Patrick’s Day (Tuesday, March 17).
Make your way to Wayne Street and join the fun under the big tent beginning at 4 p.m. All ages are welcome until 7 p.m. Admission is $5.
