Fronting a band takes talent. Just because you belt out Bon Jovi like no other during Wednesday night karaoke doesn’t mean you can do the job.
But if you have mad lip sync skills, then make your way to the Brass Rail on Saturday, Aug. 17, for the First Annual Lip Sync Battle for Charity. Starting at 9:30 p.m., teams will compete against each other to help spread awareness of a worthy cause — and earn trophies and bragging rights.
The mission this year is to raise money for the ALS Association and to help fund research and treatments towards a cure for those afflicted with the disease. There is no limit to the size of your team, whether solo or a group. The only thing they ask is that your song of choice not being longer than five minutes. Therefore, if “Stairway to Heaven” is your repertoire, you better come up with another.
The event will be hosted by Miss After Dark 2018, Kandy Warhol, who will close out the night with a special live performance.
If you’re interested in taking part, you have plenty of time to start planning your choreography, costumes, and props. Deadline to enter is August 12. Sign up at The Brass Rail. Good luck!
