No matter if it’s Zoso, The Four Horseman, Dark Star Orchestra, or Who’s Bad, the tribute acts appear to be a huge hit for the Clyde Theatre. If you’ve had the pleasure of attending any of the them, then you can attest to the amount of people that come out. For most, it’s the next best thing to see the real heroes and without having to take out a second mortgage for tickets.

If you haven’t made it out to any of these type shows yet, then Trippin’ Billies—The Dave Matthews Tribute Band is one you should highly consider.

Dubbed the nation’s most successful DMB tribute act by Live Nation Concerts, Trippin’ Billies stay true to the DMB sound and spirit, making this act the closest you can get to the real thing. For close to twenty years, the Chicago act has toured extensively throughout the U.S. performing at many of the same theaters Dave himself once graced.

Although Mr. Matthews hasn’t been to The Clyde yet, Trippin’ Billies will be there on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 8 p.m. One need not be a diehard fan to enjoy this high-energy performance and caliber of musicianship as Trippin’ Billies will have you singing along by the second chorus.

Rock/Blues songwriter at the rail

Independent troubadour Shawn James will make a stop at the Brass Rail on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in support of his latest release, The Dark & The Light.

If you’re not familiar with James, on first listen you’ll notice immediately just how extraordinary his voice is. When you combine this with his genuine songwriting and gritty rock/blues-infused sound, his music really draws you right in. James annually tours more than 150 dates around the world and has released some 70 songs over the past five years, both on his own and as part of his band the Shapeshifters.

Joining James at the Rail will be Fort Wayne’s own Pete Dio and the Old & Dirty which is a perfect fit. I can only assume the place will be filled to the gills so you probably to think ahead. Lucky for you, tickets are available beforehand through Eventbrite.

Thrash at the Fort Wayne Indoor

For the next few months, Sundays are all about football. However, on Sept. 15, it’s all about thrash. The Fort Wayne Indoor, now at its new location at 1412 S. Anthony Blvd., will be the setting for thrash pioneers D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles).

Back in the 80’s, D.R.I. helped introduce hardcore and thrash to the world and was a stylistic catalyst for bands such as Suicidal Tendencies, Corrosion of Conformity, Cro-Mags, and more. Their iconic dancing man logo could be found on T-shirts and skateboards nationwide. Now some 30 years later, the band still manages to retain the energy from decades ago.

Their Fort Wayne Indoor show will also include performances by Deathwish and In Blood. This is an early show getting under way at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through Brownpapertickets.com.

C2G Brings Snyder, We are the Monks together

Local teenage singing-sensation Jensen Snyder will soon have a pretty worthy show to add to her resume. On Friday, Sept. 27, Jensen will open for We Are The Monks at C2G Music Hall.

The Nashville acoustic husband/wife duo has a goal to offer, through music, the hope found in Jesus. This non-stop touring duo has four releases under their belts with their latest, The Long Way Home, now available on all the major digital platforms.

The C2G performance is a donation-based concert. Please come prepared to make a donation to the artist at the conclusion of the show.
