The Clyde Theatre recently hit a milestone in welcoming its 100,000th customer and shows no signs of slowing down. At the rate they’re going, it won’t be long until they celebrate the 200,000th.
By already booking well into 2020, that feat might be just around the corner. A couple of the recent bookings for The Clyde are country singer Matt Stell on Thursday, March 19, and Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience on Saturday, May 16.
With 45 million streams of his single “Prayed for You,” Stell rides to town on the “Everywhere But On Tour” with special guests Chris Bandi and Ray Fulcher.
As for Zoso, the stunning homage to Page, Plant, Bonham, and Jones has had its share of visits to the Summit City and continually outdo themselves. The St. Petersburg Times call them “the most exacting of the Led Zeppelin tribute bands in existence.” Just a couple of more shows to add to your calendar. To the folks at the Clyde, keep up the good work!
Bringing the rock to the honeywell
The two-hour arena rock extravaganza Hairball is returning to the area on the evening of Saturday, April 4, this time at the Honeywell Center.
With outfit changes, pyrotechnics, guitar wizardry, and crowd interaction, these cats bring the party. The last time I saw Hairball, I was treated to tunes from Guns N’ Roses, Van Halen, Kiss, Queen, Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, and many more. Definitely a fun time!
Tickets for Hairball go on sale Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. If it is anything like their last couple of engagements, expect a full house.
Contemporary Christian at Blackhawk
Following last year’s successful “Great Big Family Christmas Tour,” the contemporary Christian act Sidewalk Prophets is making it another go this holiday season. The tour will hit several Midwest and southern markets including Blackhawk Ministries, 7400 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne, on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m.
The stop will include many holiday classics and Sidewalk Prophets originals, some of which can be found on their latest effort, Merry Christmas To You (Great Big Family Edition).
Also, just like last year’s tour, the band is collaborating with Olivet Nazarene University, using six of the school’s students as the horns and strings section. Tickets for this show are available through Eventbrite.
C2G Open mic night…
Here’s a friendly reminder that you can show off your musical talents the first Monday of every month at C2G Music Hall’s Open Mic night. Hosted by Sunny Taylor, the evening allows musicians to come out and perform their own material in an intimate setting. Signups begin at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is free, but everyone is encouraged to bring a canned food donation for Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County Food Banks. See you at the next one on Monday, Dec. 2!
…and Mad Anthony Open Mic night
Speaking of open mic nights, Mike Conley will be hosting a special one coming up on Monday, Dec. 23, at Mad Anthony Brewing. The focus on this one will be Christmas carols. The place will be filled that evening with some of your favorite local performers letting out their Christmas spirit.
Things get under way around 7 p.m. so make it a point to come out for a bite to eat, a couple of cold Madbrews, and Christmas tunes.
