The Clyde Theatre will send women into a swoon on the evening of Saturday, August 24, when actor Kevin Bacon enters the building. Yes, the guy from Footloose.
Kevin, along with older brother Michael, are The Bacon Brothers, a musical duo that create a medley of rock, country, folk, and soul. They have been performing as a band since 1995 and have seven studio albums under their belts, appeared on numerous radio and television programs, and toured North America and Europe on numerous occasions. Now, the brothers can scratch Fort Wayne off their list when they bring The Shaky Ground Tour to town that evening.
Reserved seating tickets go on sale on Friday, April 19, at 10 a.m. and if I were you, I would act quick on these.
Drink up some summer concerts
The Country Heritage Winery Summer Concert Wine Down Series is set and ready to go. Every Friday and Saturday evening throughout the summer will feature wine sampling, food trucks, and live music.
The Sunny Taylor Band will kick off the series on Friday, May 4, and will be accompanied by a fireworks display over the pond. Other performers throughout the summer will include Island Vibe, Rosalind & The Way, Night to Remember, Casual Friday, Eric Sowers Band, Hubie Ashcraft Band, Roustabout, Country Heat, and He Said She Said. The live music runs from 6-9 p.m.
Free tickets to ride Beatlefest
You know summer is coming when the annual Beatlefest lineup has been announced. Our good friend Doc West recently unveiled that The Wailhounds, Harp Condition, Heady Times, and Sunny Taylor and Friends will be performing at this year’s Beatlefest on Saturday, June 1, on the lawn of the downtown library.
Each act will pay homage to one of the greatest bands of our time and you never know what sorts of twists you might hear on some of the classics. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy a night of friends, food, drinks, and Fab Four favorites.
In addition, folks are encouraged to wear a tie-dyed shirt that evening in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Summer of ’69.

Heroes and Legends, an all-day wrestling extravaganza, is returning to the Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, April 20, for its 12th installment.
Beginning at noon, there will be wrestler meet and greets with live wrestling getting under way at 7 p.m.
What’s so cool about Heroes and Legends is that you have the opportunity to shake hands and get photos with the wrestlers.
Some of the wrestlers scheduled to attend the event are Kevin Nash, Jerry Lawler, Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Arn Anderson, Kongo Kong, and Brooke Hogan, daughter of Hulk Hogan. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster.
