School of Rock to showcase talent at Piere’s
Remember what it was like when your band got the opportunity to perform on the “million dollar stage” of Piere’s? It was a pretty big deal.
Now, thanks to the School of Rock, some youngsters are going to embrace that same experience on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m.
The SOR Fall Show will feature the school’s Performance Program students putting on three great shows on the big stage: punk rock, glam rock, and prog rock. Those will be followed by their Adult Group performing a pop rock show.
As always, their Rock 101 students will perform throughout the day as well.
The schedule is as follows: punk rock at 1 p.m., glam rock at 3 p.m., prog rock at 5 p.m., and pop rock at 7:30 p.m. Come out and support the students!
Experience blues-rock at Rockstar Lounge
Frankfort, Indiana, is a town about 40 miles northwest of Indianapolis and home to the blues-rock touring machine called the Jason Wells Band.
The band features Jason on guitar, his son Gibson Wells on bass, and George Sheppard on drums. Together, they have shared stages with Candlebox, Jimmie Van Zant, The Kentucky Headhunters, Jackyl, and Tantric.
Jason’s guitar wizardry is influenced by the likes of Ted Nugent, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix.
Sheppard, on the other hand, is a lifelong percussionist who has won Grammys for his work with Eric Johnson and The Talking Heads, among others.
Anyhow, The Jason Wells Blues Band will make a stop at the Rockstar Lounge on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. Opening the show will be the local father and son duo The Snyders (Tim and Tom Snyder).
General admission and VIP tickets are available now through TicketWeb. VIP includes a BBQ dinner, early entry, and floor seating.
