A favorite lunchtime event is set to return downtown next month. Lunch on the Square will take over Freimann Square every Thursday from June 3 to Aug. 26, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
This summertime tradition brings co-workers, friends, and families together to enjoy food and live music outdoors. Simply grab yourself some grub from one of the food trucks or a downtown eatery and forget about work for a bit.
Lunch on the Square will be implementing practices recommended by the CDC. Those include tables set up according to social distancing recommendations, a six-foot distance while in any queue, and face coverings when not actively eating or drinking. The schedule:
June 3: Jackson Vibe, June 10: Alicia Pyle Quartet, June 17: Jen and The Foggy Creek Band, June 24: Ross Kinsey, July 1: Todd Harrold & Eric Clancy, July 8: Sunny Taylor, July 15 Joe Justice, July 22: Basketcase, July 29: Mike Conley, Aug. 5: She Bop!, Aug. 12: McKenna Parks, Aug. 19: The Mad Scatter and Friends, and Aug. 26: Jon Durnell Band.
Cruising at the rail
Left Lane Cruiser will be taking over the Brass Rail 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 15. It seems like a while since we’ve seen LLC out on the scene despite an abundant amount of livestreams they did throughout the pandemic. Their Rail performance will have original Cruiser Brenn Beck back on drums, Johnny Revers on guitar, and, of course, Joe Evans on vocals/guitar.
In other LLC news, the band is offering an eight-LP box set bundled with an autograph, bumper sticker, badge, and a unique poster created just for this set. The LPs in the set include “Dirty Spiff Blues,” “Junkyard Speedball,” and “Claw Machine Wizard.” The box set is available at www.bompstore.com.
Adult Prom at Flashback
Wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy a prom with a couple of adult beverages and not have your parents wait up for you? On Saturday, June 5, Flashback Live hosts an adult prom in their YOLO Event Center.
Come dressed to impress and get ready to enjoy an evening of complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a live DJ, special guest entertainment, multiple top-shelf cash bars, and a photographer snapping all the special moments.
A prom king and queen will be crowned along with the best-dressed couple. This is a 21 and up event that will run from 8 p.m. until midnight. Tickets are available for $25 a person and $40 couple. There is a limited capacity so make sure to get your tickets now through bit.ly/qdprom.
