Harness represents Fort Wayne on NBC’s The Voice
Samuel Harness is Fort Wayne’s latest artist to appear on NBC’s The Voice. Harness sang a unique version of the 3 Doors Down hit song “Here Without You” on the Season 21 premiere (Sept. 21) that ultimately had judges Blake Shelton, Ariana Grande, and John Legend turning the chairs around to watch the performance in awe.
After gaining praise from each of them, the 26-year-old chose to join Legend’s team. The award-winning Legend even admitted that he was jealous of Harness’s range.
How this pairing will turn out is yet to be seen. To follow, tune into NBC on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
Other local stars that have had success on the show include Addison Agen, Keegen Ferrell, and Christiana Danielle.
Smash pumpkins at festival
Although Food Truck Thursdays have come to an end at Ted’s Beerhall, Ted’s still has some outdoor hoopla up their sleeves.
On Saturday, Oct. 16, Teds Harvest Fest will take place at the establishment for a day of outdoor fun, food, games, and prizes.
The family will be kept busy with pumpkin smashing, pumpkin painting, hourly stein hoist competition, cornhole contest, bonfire, and live music by Gray Matter. Perhaps the most intriguing is the pumpkin smashing which is a simple case of hammer meeting pumpkin.
You can also warm up inside with beverages, food, and Ted’s Barcade. The event is raising funds for the Community Harvest Food Bank.
Show off your classic car
The City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division will host a Renaissance Cruse-In on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Renaissance Point YMCA.
If you consider yourself a true classic car enthusiast, this is right up your alley. The cruise-in is free and open to the public. It will have an array of classic cars to feast your eyes on in addition to food trucks, live music, and vehicle parade.
If you have a car to show, there is $15 registration fee at the event. No-pre-registration is required.
Steel yourself for heavy metal
The Eclectic Room in Angola recently announced they will host the comedic glam metal band Steel Panther on Sunday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. The band is no stranger to the area having played here on a couple occasions and always delivering a debaucherously fun concert experience. They are currently out in support of their latest effort, Heavy Metal Rules.
Recently added to the bill are area rockers A Sick World. This is a perfect pairing as they too like to dabble in ’80s glam rock in addition to current rock.
If you would to check out A Sick World beforehand, they have an upcoming gig at Someplace Else Saloon over in Claypool on Oct. 2.
Tickets for the Steel Panther show can be purchased via TicketWeb.
