John Ondrasik, the songwriter and performer known as Five for Fighting, will perform at Foellinger Theatre on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 8 p.m.
The platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated act is responsible for chart-topping hits “100 Years,” “The Riddle,” “Chances,” “World,” and “Superman (It’s Not Easy).” Ondrasik has recorded six full-length studio albums, one EP, and a few live albums as Five for Fighting. He will have his full band on stage with him at Foellinger.
Multi-platinum alternative rock band The Verve Pipe will opening things up. The Verve Pipe are most well-known for the No. 1 smash hit, “The Freshmen.”

Junk Ditch hosting cleanup, community party
Junk Ditch Brewing Company will host an “Earth Day Pick-Up & Throw Down” event Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Folks are encouraged to help clean the city, and build a stronger community with a food drive to benefit the free community pantries. There will also be a clothing swap, live music, local art, food, and drinks.
The group pickup will meet at the Lawton Skatepark parking lot from 9-11 a.m., where everyone will be provided with trash bags, gloves, and trash grabbers. No one is obligated to attend the full two hours, so come and go as you please.
The “Throw Down” will be at Junk Ditch Brewing from noon-3 p.m. where Bravas will be serving up their goods, Junk Ditch will be pouring beers, and live music will be provided by The Namby Pamby, Atticus Sorrell, and Peter Klopfenstein. Make sure to bring a bag of clothes to donate to the clothing swap and a nonperishable food item to donate.
Clyde welcomes in Daughtry on July 30
Daughtry, one of the most visible and consistent rock torchbearers of the 21st century, will be coming to the Summit City on Saturday, July 30, for a performance at The Clyde.
The band was formed and fronted by namesake Chris Daughtry, who was a finalist on the fifth season of American Idol.
Accompanying Daughtry on “The Dearly Beloved Tour” will be Black Stone Cherry.

Crooner Chris Isaak taking Embassy stage
Embassy Theatre have announced that Grammy-nominated singer and actor Chris Isaak will take the stage Saturday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m.
His music and film credits include nine critically acclaimed studio albums, 12 chart-topping singles, along with several motion pictures such as The Silence of the Lambs and That Thing You Do!
Isaak’s “Wicked Game” has become a pop classic for over a quarter of a century, having been covered by countless artists and featured in numerous movies and television series.
