Thanksgiving Eve, which this year falls on Nov. 24, is considered one of the biggest nights of the year when family and friends converge on their hometown for an evening out before the big turkey day. Also referred to as Drinksgiving, it’s the time for revelers to hit the bars and restaurants for a night of reunions and rebel rousing. After all, very few people work on Thanksgiving and not too many people want to entertain the night before, so why not catch up at the local tavern?
Luckily for us, we have a number of local acts performing that evening for you to take advantage of while you are out on the town. The list includes the Steele Rail Band at Rockstar Lounge at 7 p.m., the acoustic duo of Shane & Eric at Dicky’s at 8 p.m., Fort Wayne Funk Orchestra at Flashback Live at 8 p.m., Hubie Ashcraft Band at Sylvan Cellars Event Center at 8 p.m., Grateful Groove at The Ruin at 9 p.m., Decade Divide at The Meteor Bar and Grille (Auburn) at 9:30 p.m., and Piques, Los Lemons, and Jonah Leatherman at the Brass Rail at 10 p.m.

Three Days Grace to perform in Summit City
The Clyde Theatre continues to be active with the recent announcement of Three Days Grace on Tuesday, May 3. Since 2003, Three Days Grace has staked a spot among the hard rock vanguard, quietly breaking records, topping charts, moving millions of units worldwide, and making history by holding the all-time record for “most No. 1 singles at Active Rock Radio ever” with 13. Opening the show will be Lilith Czar.

Step out to O’Sullivans
Our friends at O’Sullivans have some dandy music lined up the evening of Saturday, Dec. 4, when they welcome Alive Natural sound recording artist Handsome Jack and local standouts Pete Dio and the Old & Dirty. Hailing from Lockport, New York, Handsome Jack plays a fusion of boogie soul rock that sometimes has a James Gang appeal and sometimes John Hiatt. They have shared stages with Gov’t Mule, The Sheepdogs, Blue Cheer, J. Geils, and Robert Randolph proving these cats mean business. The trio is out in support of their latest release, Get Humble. The show will get under way at 10 p.m.
Baker Street welcomes Pink Droyd
Pink Droyd have announced that on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 8 p.m., they will perform at the Baker Street Centre. Droyd will bring a tribute to the sight and sounds of Pink Floyd that evening, performing the biggest and smallest hits of the band’s catalog. This, my friend, would make for a great stocking stuffer for the rocker on your list.

Rockstar goes country
The Rockstar Lounge is going country on Friday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. when they welcome up-and-comer Colton Chapman. The Fairland, Indiana-native has been in the country music scene for only about six years and has performed countrywide tours, released a couple of albums, and opened for heavy hitters like Travis Tritt.
His lyrics often describe life, love, and loss of a small town man focused on providing a happy life for his family. Chapman is currently out in support of his latest effort, Can’t Hide the Truth.
