Guitarist and singer extraordinaire Davy Knowles will return to town Halloween weekend for a performance at the Baker Street Centre. 

Knowles is no stranger to the Summit City, having performed here on a number of occasions dating back to 2009 when his band Back Door Slam performed at Ribfest. 

This time around, Knowles brings his eclectic take on blues and rock to the Baker Street stage on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. This intimate affair will have folks captivated by the sheer showmanship of his virtuoso guitar work and outstanding vocals. 

If you’re an avid follower, you may have seen that he performed a new tune, “Broken Time,” at one of his live shows recently. That’s a good sign that he may have a couple of new songs for us. 

Tickets for Knowles are $25 for general admission and $50 for Gold Circle at bakerstreetcentre.com, all Wooden Nickel locations, and Neat Neat Neat Records. 

Hotdogs and Headshots

An event titled Hotdogs and Headshots is certain to pique a person’s curiosity. The event is actually a collaboration of local photographer Bambi Guthrie and our beloved hot dog slingers Bravas

The two will join forces on Friday, July 23, from 4:30-8 p.m. at 3416 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, to get a snapshot of you and also to feed your belly. 

For $35 per person, you will receive a ten-minute photo session, three high-resolution digital images, and one Bravas menu item. 

This is a perfect opportunity for a musician or band who needs a professional press photo. Then again, maybe you want to get a photo of you and your sweetie or update that horrendous Facebook profile pic. Heck, its only ten minutes out of your day and you get a mouth-watering dog to boot.

Bubblefest at Flashback 

On Friday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m., Flashback Live will host an event simply called Bubblefest. 

Presented by New Hippie Entertainment, this event was originated in Muncie as an event for Ball State University students once a semester and has grown ever since. This year, organizers decided to take it a step further by adding a Fort Wayne show.

Bubblefest includes an indoor and outdoor stage of flow artists, live art, vendors, and lots of bubbles. The inside stage will be full of experimental bass, dubstep, funk, riddim, trap, and house. The outside stage will feature hip hop, R&B, and some heavy bass. 

Performers include WeeWah, LSTree, Kloud30, Raucous, and DJ Kelz. Tickets for this 21-and-up event are available via Eventbrite.com. 

Hillbilly Casino at the Rail

Now with local studs Colin Taylor and Sam Clay in tow, the Nashville-based Hillbilly Casino is hitting the road and bringing their high-energy shows to folks throughout the country. 

On Sunday, Aug. 1, at 7:45 p.m., the train rolls into town for a performance at The Brass Rail with Debutants opening. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.
