Memorial Coliseum will be the setting for 98.9 The Bear’s Birthday Bash on Wednesday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m.

This will not be your typical birthday party with cake and confetti. Instead, there will be a performance by Pennsylvania rockers Breaking Benjamin

These cats are no strangers to the upper echelons of the rock charts. Since bursting onto the scene with 2002’s Saturate, the band has amassed an impressive string of mainstream rock radio hits, with 10 songs hitting No. 1, numerous platinum and multiplatinum songs and albums, and 8.5 billion combined streams worldwide.

They will be joined that evening by a stellar lineup including Seether, Starset, and Lacey Sturm

This is a party you won’t soon forget!

Jason Bonham bringing Zeppelin jams to Clyde

Jason Bonham, the son of late Led Zeppelin drummer John “Bonzo” Bonham, has strolled through these parts over the years, having performed with his band at Piere’s (1999), Sweetwater’s GearFest (2014), and more recently at Eagles Theatre with Sammy Hagar & The Circle in August.

Now, to honor his late father’s legacy and music, he is set to bring the Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Evening to The Clyde on Thursday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m.

This five-piece machine puts the focus squarely on the music of the mighty Zeppelin, flawlessly to a T. You can expect two hours of the classics “Kashmir,” “The Lemon Song,” “Whole Lotta Love,” and so much more.

This is a reserved seating event with tickets available via Clydetheatre.com, by calling (800) 514-3849, or by going to the The Clyde box office, all Wooden Nickel Records locations, Neat Neat Neat Records, and Sweetwater Sound.

Local musician joins Alt 102.3 showcase

Local radio station Alt 102.3 will host its first live Homegrown Showcase on Friday, March 11, at 7 p.m. in the Sweetwater Performance Theatre.

Come see our own Adam Baker as he weaves his unique brand of intimate Americana indie rock with a penchant for modern ambience in songs revealing stories of loss and love.

This is a free event, so round up the troops and head on out.

Alt 102.3 plans to put more of our local musicians on display with these showcases, so be on the lookout. I was told they are planning to do a few throughout the year, most likely every other month.

TV stars joining Bell Mansion ghost hunt

Here is something intriguing. The Bell Mansion, 420 W. Wayne Street, will host a ghost hunt on Saturday, April 2.

You have probably driven by the castle-looking building in the West Central Neighborhood many times throughout your life and never realized it was a funeral home more than 93 years. In fact, all the original embalming equipment is still intact.

Today, the 14,000-square-foot building offers historical tours, ghost tours, private investigations, parties, weddings, and more.

The ghost hunting will run from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. that evening and will include a special meet and greet with Richel Stratton, Brian Murray, and Dustin Pari from A&E’s Ghost Hunters. Now that is cool, getting to run your own paranormal investigation with three television stars.

Tickets for the event can be purchased through Eventbrite.
