Outdoor fitness in downtown

A few new options for those looking to shed a few pounds as the weather gets warmer. The Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department recently opened a new outdoor fitness facility near the Community Center downtown. As described on their website, the new park, sponsored by AARP, allows individuals or families an opportunity to achieve their fitness goals on their own or with a trainer or class to help. All sessions are free.

For a schedule of training sessions or other options, visit fortwayneparks.org.

Yoga and wine

Two EE’s Winery in Huntington offers yoga classes at their facility, the next one taking place on Monday, April 26. Hosted by the Powers of One, the all-levels class will be indoors so weather can’t be an excuse.

To sweeten the deal, the $25 fee includes a glass of wine or a slushie (21+ of course) following the 6 p.m. class. Bring your own mat, but please leave all other containers at home. Two EE’s will provide water bottles for attendees. Visit the Two EE’s Facebook page for registration information.
