Middle Waves Festival is in for yet another change.

After spending a couple years at Headwaters Park, then a planned move to the former General Electric campus that was canceled due to COVID, and last year’s move to Foellinger Theatre, it is now in the process of being acquired by Embassy Theatre.

The Embassy sent out a press release on Wednesday morning, noting they will host Ripple: A Middle Waves Hype Event on June 24 at Parkview Field.

“The Embassy recognized how important Middle Waves was for its growing audience. Providing something of this magnitude in Fort Wayne, rather than asking our residents to drive a minimum of two to four hours away to seek a ‘festival experience,’ helps us have an even more direct hand in helping Fort Wayne become a music city,” Embassy President and CEO Kelly Updike said.

Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and music starting at 5 p.m. The schedule includes local acts Mic Strong and The Namby Pamby, as well as national performs DuPont Brass, Vundabar, and headliner Soccer Mommy.

“An incredible group of dedicated supporters has made Middle Waves possible: hundreds of volunteers, sponsors, fans, festival attendees and more,” the Middle Waves board said in the release. “The community really came together to show that what Middle Waves is doing is important. We are beyond thrilled to keep this good thing going with the dedicated folks at the Embassy Theatre. They’ve got the passion, bandwidth and support to take Middle Waves to the next level. We’re stoked for the future!”

Although the legal acquisition will not be completed until this summer, tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 1, at fwembassytheatre.org, ticketmaster.com, and at the Embassy box office. Tickets are $35 and $25 for children 12 and under. VIP tickets with access to the 400 Club will be $60 and VVIP tickets with access to the 400 Club and Summit are $75.
