The eight-day celebration to commemorate Juneteenth, the day slavery legally ended, began with the Elders Jubilee on Sunday, June 12, and ends with a virtual conference on Sunday, June 19. 

Among the events taking place each day of the week is the Macknificient Freedom Fest on Saturday, June 18, at McMillen Park.

Beginning with the Art Leadership Center Promenade at 11:30 a.m., which will be a march along Oxford Steet, beginning at Warsaw Street and ending at McMillen, the festival gets started at 2 p.m. Along with information booths, vendors, and food trucks, there will also be plenty of activities for the kids, including a bounce house, bubbles, and a kickball game.

The Mack Fest All-Star Basketball Showcase, organized by former Luers and Ohio State star Austin Mack, who is currently on the San Francisco 49ers roster, will be at 2:15 p.m. and Midnight Mimosas will be playing live music from 5-6 p.m.
