Lyle Lovett has announced a co-headlining tour in the Midwest with two-time Grammy-nominated guitarist Leo Kottke which will include a stop in Wabash. 

The limited six-show run will make a stop at Honeywell Center on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. 

Lovett has broadened the definition of American music that spans 14 albums and has evolved him into one of music’s most vibrant and iconic performers. 

Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. at honeywellarts.org. 

Furthermore, the Honeywell has announced that comedian, actor, singer, and writer Rodney Carrington will take the stage on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. 

Carrington has dominated sold-out stages worldwide, earning him a spot in the Top 10 highest-grossing touring comedians for two decades. Here’s your chance to see the comedy legend in your own backyard.

TinCaps hosting Grateful Dead Night

The Fort Wayne TinCaps will host Grateful Dead Night on Thursday, Aug. 31, at 7:05 p.m. when the team battles the South Bend Cubs. 

The TinCaps will wear tie-dye jerseys while fans can jam to Grateful Dead songs all night. Plan on arriving early since Grateful Groove will perform a pregame concert on the concourse. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. 

In addition, that night is also Thirsty Thursday, so there will be $2 domestic drafts flowing along with other drink specials.

The Ruin hosts Tattoo Festival after party

This year’s Fort Wayne Tattoo Festival is set for Aug. 11-13 at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. 

If you plan on attending, you should make it a point to head over to the The Ruin on Saturday, Aug. 12, for the official after-party, featuring bingo and live music. 

Drunken Bingo kicks off at 9 p.m. and is included with your $10 cover. You will have a chance to win cool prizes by Lucky Monkey Tattoo, Electric Superstition, and Ritual Body Art. Once the games are finished, Detroit rockers The Ruiners will hit the stage. 

These cats embody everything that’s cool about garage punk and glam rock. It’s a sonic collision of The Cramps and The B-52’s doused in Elvis swagger. Now, that’s my kind of band. Come join me, this should be fun!  

School of Rock paying tribute to rock legends

Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Kiss are considered to be highly influential and impactful bands in the history of rock music. On Saturday, Aug. 5, the School of Rock Fort Wayne will pay tribute to the three with a performance at Piere’s. 

Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. with music getting under way at 1 p.m. There will also be food and beverages for purchase while you’re taking in some mind-blowing music by the SOR students. 

The schedule is Black Sabbath at 1 p.m., Led Zeppelin at 3:30 p.m., and Kiss at 6 p.m. 

Tickets for this all-ages event are $10 advance and $12 day of show. You can pick up tickets at the school or from your favorite School of Rock student. 

Embassy Theatre gets into Halloween mood

With Fright Night returning to downtown on Saturday, Oct. 21, Embassy Theatre has announced their festivities for the evening. 

At 7 p.m., the Embassy hosts a screening of the iconic slasher film Friday the 13th. Following the film, Ari Lehman, the first actor to play the role of Jason Voorhees, will take part in a question-and-answer session. 

At 9 p.m., Lehman will hit the stage with his punk metal band First Jason. But wait; it gets even cooler. After the band’s performance, they will stick around for a meet and greet and give folks a chance for a photo op with the original Voorhees. 

In addition, the Embassy will have a pre-Fright Night event the night prior with a showing of the film Nosferatu along with organist Dennis James. 

Tickets for both events go on sale Friday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com and the STAR Bank ticket office at Embassy Theatre.
