For fans of indie and alternative music in the Fort Wayne area, Friday, Nov. 22, promises to be a night to remember.

On that night, Purdue University Fort Wayne’s GoldTop Records presents Goldstock 2024 at The Clyde Theatre. The event will feature an electric lineup of local talent and rising stars.

With acts ranging from genre-blending jazz and hip-hop fusions to psychedelic folk rock, this year’s event has curated a mix designed to captivate and inspire.

Goldstock’s significance goes beyond the festival. With more than 60 artists auditioning for a coveted spot, only a select few made it onto the roster, showcasing some the best Fort Wayne’s music scene offers.

The night includes crowd-favorite Man of the Flood, the genre-bending Augmentasia, the jazzy Sun.Dyle, the dynamic trio The Namby Pamby, and the up-and-coming Noah Sties, promising a night that spans genres and emotions.

“It’s not just a show. It’s a celebration of everything we’ve built together,” GoldTop said in a press release.

Chatting with a Goldstock artist

In an interview with Sties, we asked about his involvement in the show and local music scene here in Fort Wayne.

Q: How do you feel about supporting Fort Wayne’s local music scene?

Sties: Performing at Goldstock is more than an opportunity to showcase my music. It’s a chance to support and uplift Fort Wayne’s local music culture.

Fort Wayne has such an underrated scene. With so many local venues closing down, there’s a real need for spaces where new bands can get the exposure they deserve. The DIY culture here is strong, and it’s about time local venues take notice.

Q: What’s your role in the event?

Sties: I’m a third-year music industry major at PFW and work very closely with the GoldTop team! I handle the posters, graphics, and branding for the festival and label, along with Jess Grant from Man of the Flood, who does some of the merch and art for our artists.

Q: Are there any surprises planned for your Goldstock set?

Sties: Yes! We’re debuting two songs that have never been played live before. We’ve been working hard to translate the studio versions into a super cool live set.

Student-run festival

Beyond the artists, Goldstock embodies a DIY ethos fueled by passionate PFW students, who are behind much of the festival’s organization and branding. This community-driven approach highlights the festival’s role in nurturing emerging talent and fostering connections within Fort Wayne’s music scene.

Fans can expect unforgettable performances on two stages within The Clyde Theatre. The show will start at 7 p.m., with doors opening an hour early, and tickets priced affordably at $10 in advance or $15 at the door — a conscious choice to keep the festival accessible for all.

Supporting local music

For artists like Sties, the opportunity to perform on The Clyde’s iconic stage with a full band for the first time marks a significant milestone.

“The energy of live music is indescribable,” he said. “We’ve been working hard to make this live set something special, and I can’t wait for the crowd to experience it.”

Goldstock 2024 represents the spirit of music in a local community: a celebration of creativity, connection, and the transformative power of live performance.

As the event date nears, fans of all ages are encouraged to support local talent and enjoy a night of unforgettable music that celebrates Fort Wayne’s flourishing music scene.
