In partnership with Downtown Fort Wayne, Allen County Public Library has announced the lineup for their 2024 Rock the Plaza music series, which kicks off Saturday, June 15.

“Rock the Plaza was the first of its kind in downtown Fort Wayne and we have continued to provide an engaging, safe, and fun concert experience season after season,” said Norm Compton, Rock the Plaza lead and ACPL Access Fort Wayne manager. “We’re excited to give folks even more reasons to hang out, support local musicians, and enjoy summer evenings in the Summit City!”

Offering a variety of genres from 6-10 p.m. each Saturday, there is sure to be something for everyone during the 17th year of the event, which takes place in the Library Plaza outside the downtown library.

The music kicks off with Jack’s Beanstalk, Jessie Mae, Burnt Violets, and Fort Wayne Funk Orchestra on June 15.

June 22Radio Blast, Teresa Long, Sun.Dyle, and The Be Colony

June 29The Audacity, Wagner Pastor, Los Electro, and Alicia Pyle & The Locals

July 6Maybe Naughts, Gray Matter, Midnight Mimosas, and U.R.B.

July 13 — Sahara, Brian Lemert, Todd Harrold Band, and Grateful Groove

July 20 — Wizards in Texas, The Keystones, StraitJack, Rock Steady, and Intrepid Cat

July 27 — Humans Among Us, Michael Patterson, Taj Maholics, and The G-Money Band

Along with their Rock the Plaza announcement, the library has also unveiled their monthly lunchtime Music on the Plaza Concert Series, which is 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. This year’s series includes Whoa, Man! on June 12, New Millennium Jazz Orchestra on July 10, and Farmland Jazz Band on Aug. 7.

Crash Test Dummies speed into The Clyde

Here’s something you may not have seen coming, on Friday, Sept. 6, The Clyde Theatre will bring to town Crash Test Dummies

Yeah, the band that earned a Grammy nomination for the 1993 album God Shuffled His Feet, featuring the bona-fide hit “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm.” 

The Canadian rock band is led by frontman Brad Roberts’ distinctive bass-baritone voice. They have experimented with many different styles and genres of music, from acoustic folk to electric alternative. 

Just last year they released the single “Sacred Alphabet,” their first song with the full band in more than a decade.

Yacht rock docks at Embassy Theatre

Embassy Theatre will host an evening of yacht rock classics on Friday, July 26, when they welcome Sail On: The Original Yacht Rock Revue

The night will feature hit after hit as Orleans, Walter Egan, and Peter Beckett share the stage. 

Orleans is best known as the pop/rock band that brought you the classic ’70s hits “Still the One” and “Dance With Me.” Egan is a musician, singer, and composer known for his 1978 gold status single “Magnet and Steel.” As for Beckett, he is best known as the singer and guitarist of Player who had the hit “Baby Come Back.”

Emo Kids visit Stan’s Room at Piere’s

Hailing from Southern California, Emo Kids are considered one of the best emo cover bands around, and they’ll be in Stan’s Room at Piere’s on Thursday, July 11. 

Fans can expect to hear tunes by My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, The All American Rejects, Blink-182, and more.

Git-R-Done with Larry the Cable Guy

Get ready for a night of laughter when the multi-platinum recording artist, Grammy nominee, Billboard award winner, and one of the top comedians in the country Larry the Cable Guy performs at Honeywell Center on Saturday, Aug. 17. 

Mr. Git-R-Done has a Netflix special Remain Seated and recently reprised the role of Mater in the new Disney+ series Cars on the Road
