Landing Zone Coffee Co. in Waynedale will reopen soon. And when they do, it will be with a new baker. In August, they closed after their baker, Hello Sunshine Bakery, opted to move on.

On their Facebook page, Landing Zone, 2612 Lower Huntington Road, reported they would be closed Sept. 1-12 to get reorganized. On Sept. 6, they looked ready to stick to that schedule, noting they’d be adding the name “Bakehouse” to their name after hiring Jen Netting, the baker behind The Tattooed Cookie, a popular vendor at farmers markets. Landing Zone also posted their “optimism got a bit carried away,” and they’d now be reopening Friday, Oct. 6.

However, Netting has stated this is a “temporary business venture,” as she plans to relocate to England this year.

Landing Zone will have their standbys like coffee, espresso, soft drinks, muffins, cookies, and doughnuts, but Netting is bringing in some new recipes.
