Kevin Hart has announced his Acting My Age tour will continue into the new year as the comedian and actor added shows for 2025.
The newly announced dates kick off Jan. 3 at Chicago Theatre followed by a stop at the Fox Theatre in Detroit on Jan. 10.
As part of the announcement, Hart said he has added a second show, beginning at 10 p.m., at the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis on Nov. 17 to go along with his previously announced appearance on the same date.
Hart’s focus on smaller venues this time around is intentional. The comedian could easily have sold out much bigger venues.
“Acting My Age is my ninth tour, and I wanted to change things up by creating a more intimate environment,” Hart said in a statement. “This hour is about connecting with the audience and feeding off the crowd’s energy and laughter.”
Things get heavy in Chicago
The second year of the Heavy Chicago festival will take place Nov. 1-3 at Avondale Music Hall in the Windy City.
Opening night will be headlined by the hometown doom veterans Bongripper with Wraith, Avernus, and Motherless also on the bill.
On Saturday, hardcore legends Earth Crisis will be the highlight along with Jasta & Legions of Doom, grindcore super-group EarthBurner, plus The Crosses performing a special Die Kreuzen set with Dan Kubinski on vocals. Usurper will also be playing their first show in five years that night.
Things finish strong on Sunday with Cynic and special guests Toxic Holocaust with black metal masters Profanatica and The Skull returning to the city playing a rare appearance and something special for Trouble fans.
Friedman gets dramatic
Former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman is hitting the road again next year to support his latest solo album, Drama, that came out this year.
The tour will take place in January and February and will feature special guests Nikki Stringfield, guitarist for The Iron Maidens, and Patrick Kennison.
The tour stops at Arcada Theater in Chicago on Jan. 30, Token Lounge in Detroit on Jan. 31, The King of Clubs in Columbus, Ohio, on Feb. 1, and The Winchester in Cleveland on Feb. 2.
Ex-Guess Who singer nearby
Burton Cummings, former lead singer of The Guess Who, is celebrating the 60th anniversary of his music career with a tour that will stop by the Blue Gate Performing Arts Center in Shipshewana on March 28.
As lead singer and songwriter with the original The Guess Who, Burton recorded and wrote/co-wrote hits such as “These Eyes,” “Laughing,” “No Time,” “American Woman,” “Share the Land” and “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature.”
As a solo artist, he has written notable songs like “Stand Tall,” “I’m Scared,” “You Saved My Soul,” and his signature “My Own Way to Rock.”
Chicago keep on rolling
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Chicago just keep on touring.
Following the conclusion of Heart & Soul Tour, which the band co-headlines with Earth, Wind & Fire, the two-time Grammy winners kick off their 16-date solo run on Oct. 22 at Brown County Music Center in Nashville, Indiana, then end the tour by visiting Stranahan Theater in Toledo on Nov. 13, Mershon Auditorium in Columbus, Ohio, on Nov. 14, Silver Creek Event Center in New Buffalo, Michigan, on Nov. 16, and DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids on Nov. 17.
