During their season-ending Christmas on Lake shows in December, Indiana Musical Theatre Foundation also announced what you can expect from the nonprofit theater company this year.

As has become tradition, IMTF will kick off the season by honoring a soulful singer in a concert setting. After having already performed shows in honor of Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and Stevie Wonder, this year will be an ode to the Queen of Soul — Aretha Franklin.

Aretha: A Tribute to the Queen of Soul will feature the voices of Martel Harris, Dave Ealy, Prentis Moore, Tamia Beverly, Jaylee Hill, Fatima Washington, Debbie Kirkland, Jordan Weatherbe, Albert Brownlee, and Jake Wilhelm, backed by Peter Klopfenstein & The IMTF All-Star Band.

Produced by Alex Leavell and hosted by Moore, the production will be at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, at RKF Studios, 2446 Lake Ave.

The rest of the season will include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time at the University of Saint Francis North Auditorium from April 17-19 and April 25-27.

The summer cabaret show, June 13-14, will be Flops! The Best Songs from Broadway’s Biggest Bombs, followed by the annual Fort Wayne Summer Music Theatre show, which will be Sweeney Todd from July 11-13 and July 18-20.

In September, they will team up with Arena Dinner Theatre for Avenue Q from Sept. 12-21, followed by the season closer Company, from Nov. 14-23 at USF’s North Auditorium.

The play is rated R for language and will be performed March 21-April 6 at Fort Wayne Museum of Art.
