If you’ve been holding out on winter fun, now’s your chance to make the most of what’s left of the season — and trust us, you’ll want to ice skate right over to Headwaters Park in Fort Wayne before it’s too late.

The final few Thursday Theme Nights are here, and with spring just around the corner, this is your last shot at experiencing one of the city’s coolest (literally) winter traditions.

If you’ve somehow missed it this season, Thursday Theme Nights at Headwaters Ice Skating Rink are a unique twist on your typical ice-skating experience.

Along with the rink being open Wednesday through Sunday each week until Sunday, Feb. 23, the rink transforms into a different world from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday Theme Nights, whether it’s ’80s music blasting during Throwback Thursday or everyone bundled up in their coziest knits for Cozy Sweater Night.

It’s a celebration of winter in every sense of the word: skating, music, and good vibes.

But let’s not forget the best part: ice skating is affordable!

For just $6 and a few bucks more if you need to rent skates, you’re getting an entire evening of entertainment, perfect for a night out with friends, a date night, or even a family outing.

Things are even better on the remaining Thursday Theme Nights when the price drops to $1 admission and $1 skate rental. These discounts are part of Dr. Crawford Days, honoring longtime Fort Wayne City Councilman Dr. John Crawford.

A night of skating is also the perfect excuse to end the evening at Fort Wayne’s Famous Coney Island for some warm chili, a dog, and the classic Coke in a bottle.

Round up your crew (or just your favorite person), bundle up, and get over to Headwaters Park before the last skate of the season.
