The folks at Honeywell Center are at it again. They recently added more noteworthy shows to their 2024 calendar.

First up, country star Gary Allan will make his way to Wabash on Friday, June 28.

Allan is known for albums like Ruthless and Set You Free and his No. 1 country radio chart-topper “Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain).” To be honest, I’ve never seen Allan live, but for a cat that has sold more than 8 million albums, been certified platinum on three back-to-back albums, and been certified gold five times, I might have to see what the hype is all about and head on over to Wabash.

Next up, America’s preeminent progressive rock band Kansas will perform Saturday, Aug. 10.

What can you say? They have the hits: “Carry on Wayward Son,” “Dust in the Wind,” “Point of Know Return,” etc. Fans can expect a couple hours of memorable hits, fan-favorites, and deep cuts rarely performed live.

Honeywell’s last announcement is Blue Öyster Cult on Friday, Oct 25.

For five decades these guys have stood as a beacon of genuine hard rock. With their upcoming album, Ghost Stories, set for release on April 12, the group continue to defy trends and is recognized as one of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.

Tickets for these shows go on sale Friday, April 5, at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at honeywellarts.org.

Live music, vendors at Celestial Fest

The inaugural Celestial Fest will take place on Saturday, May 4, from noon-midnight at Ambrosia Orchard, Cidery & Meadery just south of Fort Wayne on U.S. 27.

Hosted by Sun.Dyle, the festival is an effort to bring the local music and art scene closer together. First of all, the list of acts performing is top-notch and includes Intrepid Cat, Funayūrei, Augmentasia, The Namby Pamby, Kangaroo Kourt, The Be Colony, Sun.Dyle, and Man of the Flood

Alongside the music, there will be 20 different vendors specializing in art, jewelry, vintage clothing, and more.

This is an all-ages event, so make it a point to bring the family. If the kiddos are under 10 they get in free, while all those older pay only $10.

Fundraiser pairs service dog with veteran

Decades will take part in fundraiser to benefit a fully trained service dog for a local veteran with service related trauma. How cool is that?

Things will take place at the American Legion Post 157 in Churubusco on Saturday, April 20, at 5 p.m. and will include spirit and wine tastings, dinner, auctions, raffles, dancing, laughs, and more. There will be a smoked pork chop or half chicken dinner option, so bring your appetite.

Tickets for the 21-and-older Bubbles, Booze & Brews Bash are $20 and can be purchased via Eventbrite or at the Legion.

GoldTop brings local acts to The Garden

April showers bring SuperBloom flowers.

That’s right: GoldTop Records is gearing up for SuperBloom, a pop-up show at The Garden on Friday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m.

Performing that night will be The Indigo Society, Augmentasia, and Veo. There will be a $12 cover at the door.

Come out and support the locals and GoldTop Records, a local recording company that is part of Purdue University Fort Wayne’s School of Music.
