Science Central will hold an interactive murder mystery on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. My Cold Hearted Valentine allows guests 21 and older to spend a night investigating a fictional murder at Science Central, learning about forensic science basics while enjoying food and drink. 

Formal interrogations will be held in Science Central’s Demonstration Theater starting at 7 p.m. then every 30 minutes thereafter until 9 p.m., when the killer’s identity will be revealed.

Presented by Centier Bank, My Cold Hearted Valentine is a fundraiser for Science Central with all proceeds benefiting the center’s mission to provide inspiring and fun hands-on science education for all people of all ages.

Tickets are $40 for singles and $75 for couples. A handful of VIP tickets may still be available for $60 per single or $95 per couple.

Youtheatre auditions this month

Fort Wayne Youtheatre will hold auditions for three upcoming productions Feb. 26-27 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Arts United Center. 

The shows are Ruby Bridges on April 19-21, Go, Dog, Go from April 25-28, and The Bully, dates to be announced.

Musical performances at PFW

  • Practicing music therapists will assist their clients in demonstrating skills they developed through participation in music therapy services on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 2:30 p.m. at Rhinehart Recital Hall. Admission is free for everyone.
  • Percussion Day is a free event open to percussionists of all ages who are able to participate in clinics with Purdue University Fort Wayne faculty on Sunday, Feb. 11, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at Auer Performance Hall. The day will culminate with a final concert featuring members of the PFW Percussion Ensemble. 
  • The Concerto and Composition Orchestra Concert on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m. features the PFW School of Music students chosen, by competition, for an opportunity to solo with the orchestra or have a musical composition premiered. The concert will feature Ethan Nguyen, saxophone; Katherine Marx, flute; Maximus Bruner, clarinet; Connor Wooley, composer; and Josiah Massengale, trombone.
