Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Cheap Trick will perform at Blue Gate Performing Arts Center in Shipshewana on Dec. 11.
Established half a century ago, the Rockford, Illinois-based band remains very active while celebrating their 50th anniversary and a huge catalog of tunes that includes “California Man,” “Dream Police,” “Surrender,” “I Want You To Want Me,” and “The Flame.”
“The songs are why everybody knows Cheap Trick,” said guitarist Rick Nielsen in a press release before the tour. “We have some good songs. ‘I Want You To Want Me” has been around for 40 years, but people still love it. And even if you’re sick of it, it’s over in three minutes! The songs are still relevant, they still have the right words and the right emotions to move 99% of all living humans. I don’t ever see us quitting. We’re not cut out for sitting around and watching TV.”
Along with the show in Shipshewana, Cheap Trick will also be at Brown County Music Center in Nashville, Indiana, on Dec. 8.
