Good Bread for All, 1016 Broadway, will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting on Sunday, March 30, at 10 a.m.
The bakery is operated by Sarah Thompson, who previously sold baked goods at the YLNI Farmers Market.
Good Bread offers cakes, breads, pastries, and tarts, with non-gluten, vegan, and allergy-friendly options available.
Free samples and promotions will be available during the grand opening, which will run until 2 p.m.
Regular business hours will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday-Sunday. Extended hours are offered on the first Friday of each month when they open for the evening from 5-9 p.m.
Brooklyn Pints closes shop
As we reported a couple months back, Brooklyn Pints Microcreamery set March 23 as a closing date. And from the social media posts, folks were eager to get their last tastes.
Struggling to keep up with pint containers for those looking to take their ice cream on the go, owners were grateful for their send-off.
Naughty Lobstah food trucks visits Deer Park
Deer Park Irish Pub, 1530 Leesburg Road, will host The Naughty Lobstah food truck on Sunday, March 30, from noon-7 p.m.
The truck will serve lobster rolls, clam cakes, and lobster thermidor.
By the way, Deer Park has new owners, Michael and Sarah Earls, who were introduced during the pub’s Clover Classic St. Patrick’s Day celebration. They take over for longtime owner Tony Henry.
Chapman’s, Do it Best love Taco Tuesdays
The Do it Best Foundation and Chapman’s Brewing at Electric Works, 1690 Broadway, will begin hosting Taco Tuesday lunches throughout the year, beginning on April 8.
An all-you-can-eat taco bar and soda will cost $15. Fifteen percent of proceeds will support nonprofits focused on health, youth programs, arts, and community projects.
The Do it Best Foundation has provided more than $1 million in grants, supporting organizations such as Blessings in a Backpack and United Way of Allen County.
Taco Tuesdays will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on April 8, June 3, Aug. 26, Oct. 14, and Dec. 9.
Ivy Tech lunch series begins in April
Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne will host its International Lunch Series on Thursdays in April and May 1 from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. at Coliseum Campus, 3800 N. Anthony Blvd.
Culinary students will prepare dishes representing global cuisines.

Tranquill speaks at mental health event
RemedyLive will host its Texteractive event May 5 at The Clyde Theatre, 1808 Bluffton Road.
Marking Mental Health Awareness Month, the event will feature dinner by Mission BBQ, trivia games, and a keynote address by Kansas City Chiefs player Drue Tranquill. The former Carroll and Notre Dame player will discuss his mental health journey.
Tickets cost $75, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds will support RemedyLive’s mission to provide mental health resources.
Winona farmers market sets opening date
A sign that warmer weather can’t be too far away is the announcement that Farmers Market at Winona will open on Saturday, April 26, at Miller Sunset Pavilion in Winona Lake.
The market will be held every Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., through Nov. 1.
