On Tuesday, March 26, The Clyde Theatre welcomes Colin Hay to the big stage. The erstwhile Men at Work leader has established himself as a solo artist since the Australian pop rock band disbanded in 1986.
Having recently released his 15th studio album, Now and Evermore, Hay’s music draws on a variety of genres such as rock, folk, reggae, and world music. At The Clyde, Hay will be joined by his fantastic band of L.A.-based musicians performing songs from the Grammy-winning Men at Work and Hay’s solo catalog.
This will be something special folks and something we don’t get to see every day.
Reserved seating tickets are available online at clydetheatre.com, by phone at (800) 514-3849, and at The Clyde box office, all Wooden Nickel locations, and Sweetwater Sound.
Beartooth, Yacht Rock Revue coming to Clyde
In more news from The Clyde, the venue has also announced metalcore giants Beartooth will be in town Thursday, March 14, and the smooth music of Yacht Rock Revue will grace the stage Friday, Feb. 9
The Ohio-based Beartooth will be out in support of their fifth album, The Surface. Joining them will be The Plot in You, Invent Animate, and Sleep Theory.
Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m.
teds hosting fundraiser for local food bank
On Saturday, Nov. 4, teds beerhall will host their Harvest Fest Fundraiser from 3-11 p.m.
This all-ages festival will include pumpkin smashing, a fire pit, seasonal craft beers, food specials, and live music by Austin Marsh from 7-10 p.m. and another musician that is yet to be announced from 3-6 p.m.
I don’t know about you, but I was sold on the pumpkin smashing. After all, jack-o’-lanterns live a short, scary life, so there’s no reason to feel bad letting your anger out on one.
All this fun will help benefit the Community Harvest Food Bank. From now through the event, teds will be accepting canned goods, so make it a point to stop by and drop off some goodies or bring them with you for Harvest Fest.
Halloween photo shoot at The Brass Rail
After you put the kids down after trick or treating on Tuesday, Oct. 31, put on your costume and head down to The Brass Rail for their annual Halloween Photo Shoot.
Beginning at 8 p.m., you and your posse can jump on the Rail stage in costume to have your photo professionally taken for free by Bambie Guthrie.
This is always a fun event, so come out, hang with the crew, show off your costume, and capture it all in a photo.
Benefit show for tattoo shop at Piere’s
Back in July, Freedom Tattoo, 10212 Coldwater Road, had to close its doors due to arson that left the business with heavy fire and water damage. Pretty much everything they worked so hard for was gone.
Rather than throwing in the towel, the owners decided to fix it back up. A GoFundMe page was created to help with rebuilding costs, replacing all their equipment, and replacing all of the artwork that was destroyed.
You can still donate there or you can attend a benefit show on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 8 p.m. in Stan’s Room at Piere’s.
This Halloween Benefit Show will feature live performances by Squirrel Cage, Grounds, and Half Cap.
Tickets for this all-ages show are $10 in advance and $15 on Oct. 28, and can be purchased at etix.com.
Put on your raddest costume and get ready to rock! More importantly, help a local business get back on its feet.
