Comedian Mark Normand is set to bring his You Don’t Say Tour to Embassy Theatre on Saturday, May 18. Dubbed by Jerry Seinfeld as the “best young up-and-coming comic,” Normand has risen to prominence in the world of stand-up comedy.

Normand cut his teeth for years at New York bars, clubs, and theaters, and last year released a Netflix special Soup to Nuts. Prior to that, he had two Comedy Central specials and numerous appearances on late-night talk shows, is a frequent guest on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, and hosts his own podcasts, Tuesdays with Stories! and We Might Be Drunk

There’s no denying this extremely prolific comedian has been around, and with high regards from the likes of Seinfeld, this is indeed a show to check out.

Tickets are on sale now online at tickemaster.com and fwembassytheatre.org and at the Embassy box office.

Teen guitarist joins Venable at Baker Street

Baker Street Centre have announced the opening act for the Ally Venable show on Saturday, March 9 — Danny Garwood & Co.

Garwood has been playing the guitar since he was 9, and now at the age of 14, he continues to rack up achievements, including sharing the stage with Buddy Guy and Christone “Kingfish” Ingram at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, during Guy’s farewell tour.

In 2022, Garwood competed in the Dallas International Guitar Festival “10 Under 20” competition where Venable pulled him on stage during one of her shows that weekend. A YouTube video of that performance has had more than 6 million views and led to Garwood opening shows for Venable, which is what we’re about to witness at Baker Street.

With inspirations from the likes of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Gales, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, this is going to be one hot opener.

You can get your tickets at bakerstreetcentre.com and all three Wooden Nickel locations.

And speaking of Venable, along with her performance at Baker Street, the blues guitarist will also host a masterclass at Sweetwater Sound on Friday, March 8. If you’d like to attend the $75 class to get tips from the Texan, sign up at sweetwater.com/local/events.
