The force of nature, hall of fame, nine-time Grammy-winning act Earth, Wind & Fire will make a stop at Embassy Theatre on Saturday, July 26, as part of their 2025 Summer tour.

Known for such hits as “Shining Star,” “Let’s Groove,” “After the Love Is Gone,” and “Sing a Song,” Earth, Wind & Fire were formed by the late Maurice White and released their self-titled debut in 1970.

“Although we were basically jazz musicians, we played soul, funk, gospel, blues, jazz, rock, and dance music… which somehow ended up becoming pop,” White is quoted as saying on the band’s website.

“We were coming out of a decade of experimentation, mind expansion, and cosmic awareness. I wanted our music to convey messages of universal love and harmony without force-feeding listeners’ spiritual content.”

White passed away in 2016, but the music continues with original member Verdine White and longtime member Phillip Bailey and a slew of talented singers and musicians.

Tickets for Earth, Wind & Fire go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, at fwembassytheatre.org or by visiting The Embassy box office.

Baker Street books pair of blues artists

Baker Street Centre have added a couple shows to their 2025 calendar, including blues guitarist Davy Knowles and acclaimed blues rock artist Albert Cummings

Knowles, always a Fort Wayne favorite, is out in support of last year’s The Invisible Man, the follow-up to 2021’s What Happens Next

An Isle of Man native and current Chicago resident, Knowles one of those cats that always puts 110 percent into every performance.

You can guarantee that once again when he returns on Saturday, Feb. 22.

As for Cummings, what makes him so unique is that he never plays the same song the same way twice, doesn’t make a setlist, and lets the crowd’s reaction determine what path he will take for choosing the next song and how it will be played.

His 10th album, Strong, was released in 2024.

Tickets for Knowles and Cummings can be purchased by going to bakerstreetcentre.com.

Uncle Kracker guitarist at Vinnie’s

On Saturday, Feb. 1, The Hubie Ashcraft Band will be heading south to Decatur for a performance at Vinnie’s Bar.

Sure, Hubie has made numerous trips to D-town over the years, but what makes this one special is that he will be sharing the stage with Kevin Wilson, former lead guitarist for the band Uncle Kracker.

Showtime is set for 9 p.m., with seating first-come first-serve, so get there early.

Of course, there will be plenty of dancing room and Vinnie’s world-famous pizza being served.

Talking Heads film screened at Embassy

The 1984 film was directed by renowned filmmaker Jonathan Demme and considered by critics as the greatest concert film of all time.

On Friday, May 2, Embassy Theatre will feature a public screening of the re-release, hosted by none other than Talking Heads guitarist/keyboardist Jerry Harrison who will deliver introductory remarks, post screening comments, and an audience Q&A.

Whether you are a Talking Heads fan or not, this is going to be one special event that you won’t want to pass up.
