Indiana’s largest self-sustaining theater is once again bringing Broadway performances to our neck of the woods.
The Embassy announced their 2022-23 Broadway at the Embassy season on Wednesday. From October through May, the theater will showcase five shows, including: The Book of Mormon (Oct. 12-13); On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan (Jan. 24); Riverdance: The 25th Anniversary Tour (March 23); Jesus Christ Superstar (April 15); and Annie (May 11).
“Our community has always been supportive of the Embassy’s goal to enhance the cultural landscape of northeast Indiana,” Kelly Updike, president and CEO of the Embassy, said in a press release. “Seeing Broadway shows on our historic stage is a true example of the Embassy’s ability to deliver magical memories that bring patrons back.”
The nine-time Tony Award-winning musical The Book of Mormon is an adult-oriented, satirical performance has been praised as one of the best musicals of this century.
Leaping ahead, On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan is based on the true story on the international music sensations, while Riverdance celebrates Irish and international dance.
The 50th anniversary production of Jesus Christ Superstar is an iconic musical that follows the final weeks of the life of Jesus Christ through the eyes of Judas, while the story of little orphan Annie wraps up the season.
“This season offers diversity, fun, and a range of incredible talent that is unique to our region,” Updike said.
