Elvis Costello  and Daryl Hall have announced a co-headlining spring and summer tour that kicks off June 2 and works its way to our region in July.

Costello will perform with his longtime band The Imposters while Hall will have his solo band since he is in a legal dispute with longtime collaborator John Oates.

This pair of superstars are very familiar with each other as they collaborated in 1984 on Costello’s single “The Only Flame in Town.”

The stops in our region come during the Ravinia Festival on July 6 at Highland Park in Chicago and July 8 at Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit.

The unbelievable and greatly underappreciated Charlie Sexton will open the shows.

James Taylor goes on tour

Six-time Grammy-winning folk legend James Taylor has announced tour dates with his All-Star Band.

The 75-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will make a two-night stop in Chicago during the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, June 8-9, followed by Ruoff Music Center north of Indianapolis on June 11 and Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit on June 23.

Taylor’s 1976 Greatest Hits, featuring and “Carolina in My Mind” and “You’ve Got a Friend,” a duet with Carol King, has sold more than 11 million copies, making it one of the best sellers in history.

Do not forget Timberlake

Music icon Justin Timberlake will embark on his first full tour in five years when he criss-crosses North America on the 22-stop The Forget Tomorrow World Tour.

Timberlake will be out in support of his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, released in March.

Stops include United Center in Chicago on June 21 and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on July 7.

Vampire Weekend book dates

Indie giants Vampire Weekend will play 39 dates on their biggest tour ever and the band’s first since 2019.

Supporting the new album Only God Was Above Us, Vampire Weekend will spend two evenings at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion, July 26-27. Later in the tour, they will stop at Blossom Music Center outside Cleveland on Sept. 19, Smale Riverfront Park in Cincinnati on Sept. 20, Everwise Amphitheater in Indianapolis on Sept. 21, and Meadow Brook Amphitheatre outside Detroit on Sept. 23.

Catch Dashboard on road

Emo darlings Dashboard Confessional will tour this fall, marking their first headlining trek since 2022.

The tears are sure to be flowing as the Chris Carrabba-fronted project hits 28 venues on the tour including GLC Live at 20 Monroe in Grand Rapids on Sept. 18, Kemba Live! in Columbus, Ohio, on Sept. 20, Old National Centre in Indianapolis on Sept. 22, and Aragon Ballroom in Chicago on Sept. 28.

Boys Like Girls and Taylor Acorn will support.

Lavigne set to play the hits

Avril Lavigne is still making music, but she will celebrate her past on a 27-date headline tour across North America, dubbed Avril Lavigne: The Greatest Hits.

Fans of pop-punk royalty can look forward to hearing the singer’s biggest hits live on this trek, including the song that started it all, the ultra-catchy “Complicated,” along with “Sk8er Boi,” “Girlfriend,” “Here’s To Never Growing Up,” and a few more.

It will undoubtedly be a high-energy show when Lavigne stops at Blossom Music Center outside Cleveland on Sept. 6, Pine Knob Music Theatre outside Detroit on Sept. 7, and Huntington Bank Pavilion in Chicago on Sept. 10.

Simple Plan and Girlfriends will open the shows.
