It is going to be a summer full of anthems as two of rock’s most iconic and influential bands, Journey and Def Leppard, have announced a co-headlining stadium tour that begins in July.
The bands will join forces to conquer audiences across North America in what is sure to be one of the hottest tours of the year. There will be timeless classics and chart-topping hits every night as both bands have numerous hit songs from which to choose.
The 23-city tour includes stops at Wrigley Field in Chicago on July 15 and Comerica Park in Detroit on July 18 with Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Steve Miller Band opening.
The tour also stops at Progressive Field in Cleveland on July 30 with openers Heart, who are also in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
When you are getting those types of acts to open for you, you know it is going to be a big tour.
Limp Bizkit on Loserville tour
If you are looking for something a little different, look no further than the Loserville Tour.
Capitalizing on the movement to hate everything they have ever done, the appropriately named tour features headliners Limp Bizkit as they bring nu-metal back to large stages, including Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Chicago on July 20, Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville on July 21, and Pine Knob Music Center near Detroit on July 23.
Though no one admits to ever having liked the band, they sure sold a lot of albums and were insanely successful during the height of the nu-metal movement in the early 2000s.
Joining Limp Bizkit for the trek will be Bones, N8NoFace, Riff Raff, and the incomparable Corey Feldman.
It should be a good time for all of you losers out there.
Pink extends tour
Pink’s Summer Carnival Tour, in support of her latest album Trustfall, will return in 2024 beginning in August.
Seventeen more shows are planned including Soldier Field in Chicago on Aug. 24 and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Oct. 12.
The singer recently re-released Trustfall with three additional songs and six live recordings captured during last summer’s world tour.
Foreigner, Styx team up
Foreigner’s ongoing Farewell Tour just got a little longer with the addition of 2024 co-headlining dates with fellow classic rockers Styx.
From June through August, the groups that brought the world “I Want To Know What Love Is,” “Mr. Roboto,” “Feels Like the First Time,” and “Come Sail Away,” along with several dozen more hits, will play venues all over North America as part of their Renegades and Juke Box Heroes Tour with special guest John Waite.
The tour begins at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids on June 11, followed by Blossom Music Center outside Cleveland on June 12, Pine Knob Music Center near Detroit on June 15, Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville on July 26, Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati on Aug. 23, and Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Chicago on Aug. 24.
If you are interested in a bit of a preview, Waite has just announced an appearance at the Blue Gate Performing Arts Center in Shipshewana on Feb. 2. For the show, he will bring the best of his solo material to the stage along with selections from his time with The Babys and Bad English.
