The Landing continues to burst with activity with the announcement that the much-anticipated opening of Dana’s, Night Train, and Blue Bottle Shop will be March 13.
Housed at the corner of Harrison and Columbia streets in the former Columbia Street West, the businesses are latest effort from Be Better Hospitality, the group behind Penny Drip.
On the first floor is Dana’s, which promises to be an elegant neighborhood tavern that is named after Dana Columbia, founder of Columbia Street and The Landing in the 1800s. Accompanied by a French-inspired tavern food menu for pairings, Dana’s will serve up cocktails and a special selection of beer, wine, and spirits. It will be open every day from 4 p.m.-midnight.
In the basement is Night Train. It’s a tip of the hat to the railroad lines nearby and will be more of a late-night hangout with entertainment in a fun, energized bar setting. Like Dana’s, it’s open seven days a week, stretching from 6 p.m-3 a.m.
Blue Bottle Shop offers a carefully selected showcase of beverages that promises to be “your destination for specialty spirits, liqueurs, wines, beers, non-alcoholic and cocktail tools.” Again, its historical roots date back to the day of the original Blue Bottle store where pioneers would grab supplies like whiskey for their travels.
Chapman’s tapping into Electric Works market
We are getting our first look at the anchor of the Electric Works project.
Chapman’s Brewing leaders will show off their new company headquarters in Building 27, just across Dynamo Alley next to Union Street Market.
The headquarters will have more than business offices since there is also a 10-barrel brewery and restaurant/taproom.
When it was announced in 2021, they teased us with a full-service, next-level dining experience with great beer and food and 24 beers on tap, besides wine and cider.
The brewery also has a taproom in downtown Columbia City and in the terminal at Fort Wayne International Airport.
