Good news, folks! The Migraines are reuniting for three dates next month including a performance in Stan’s Room at Piere’s on Saturday, May 18.
The local punk rock outfit, who are celebrating their 32nd anniversary, will also hit Indianapolis and Dayton with the classic lineup of Eddie Migraine, Gee Gee Migraine, Jimmy Migraine, and Tommy Migraine.
The Fort Wayne date is all ages and will include performances Nifty Skullet, Neon Straightjackets, and Second to Last.
“It will be a night of Migraines classics,” Eddie said. “It will be a really fun night of folks watching us go down memory lane, and of course it will be loud.”

Holy Nothing release music video
The Holy Nothing have released a music video for their track “Unending Death” off their recent release Vol. 1: A Profound and Nameless Fear.
The band came up with the concept for the video and directed and edited it themselves. The gem can be viewed on YouTube.
In addition, the band have announced a second pressing of the aforementioned album. This time around, the records will come in a random assortment of colors. That means each order gets a mystery color that could be anything from Flamin’ Hot Cheetos red dust or murky sewage runoff brown. Who knows?
So, if you missed your shot at scoring one of these bad boys, here’s your calling. You can order yours on their Bandcamp page. They hope to start shipping in May.
New track from Heaven’s Gateway
Sticking to their word of releasing a new single every month in 2024, Heaven’s Gateway Drugs proudly gives you “No Light.”
This three-minute diddy was recorded and mixed at Off the Cuff Recording Studio and can be heard on your favorite streaming service.
“It should help boost yer energy and hopefully induce some toe-tapping,” the band said.
As of press time, the band have no shows booked, but until they do, enjoy “No Light.”
Lips Speak Louder book gig at Rail
A couple issues ago, I mentioned local rocker Angela Lese was returning to town with her band Lips Speak Louder for a recording workshop at Sweetwater Studios.
Since then, they have decided to book a show while they’re in town. The Leo High School graduate, now Nashville-based drummer, has announced that she and Rachel Brandsness will perform at The Brass Rail on Monday, April 22, with local faves Squirrel Cage.
If you’re not taking part in the Sweetwater workshop, make it a point to come see what this rock duo is all about.
As an added bonus, Lese will be at 2 Crazy Crystal Guys, 4007 S. Wayne Ave., from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on April 22 to do tarot readings. That’s right, the former meteorologist, now drummer extraordinaire, also does tarot readings.

Nirvana tribute band in bloom
A new band to keep an eye on is Moderate Rock: A Nirvana Tribute.
The band has only a few shows under their belts, but they are starting to gain momentum in the scene.
“Moderate Rock exists first and foremost because we all share a deep love for Kurt Cobain,” rhythm guitarist Enrique Maldonado said. “Our band strives to make Kurt proud, and in that we obsess over the finer details and sometimes even argue passionately to make sure our set isn’t just the run of the well-known hits but also includes fan-decided favorites, rarities, and lesser-known tracks other tribute acts seem to ignore.”
One thing is for certain, these guys have done their research the last couple years and have spent a good deal of money and hours learning, hunting, acquiring, and even building all the rare pedals, pre-amps, guitars, and outboard studio effects used to make Nirvana’s original music.
Along with Maldonado, Jacob Kitchen is on vocals/lead guitar, Joseph Jovaselic is on bass, and Zach Brownband is on drums.
Stay tuned to Whatzup for upcoming dates for Moderate Rock: A Nirvana Tribute.
