The Texas Roadhouse subsidiary Bubba’s 33 is moving into space across from Glenbrook Square. For nearly three decades, the building at 317 Coliseum Blvd. W. was home to a Chili’s.

Bubba’s 33 markets itself as a family friendly, scratch-made, community-minded, high-energy sports bar. They have hard-crafted drinks, steaks, salads, burgers, and pizza.

The “33” is a salute to the end of Prohibition in the U.S., which came in 1933.

Bubba’s 33 has more than 50 locations in 15 states, including Fishers and Toledo.

Taco Bell moving nearby

The Taco Bell in downtown Fort Wayne is moving, but not too far.

The Allen County Fort Wayne Capital Improvement Board of Managers (CIB) have approved a plan to build a new restaurant at 405 W. Jefferson Blvd., catty-corner from its current space at 340 W. Jefferson Blvd.

The CIB is paying the $2 million bill for construction and, in return, will rent it to the franchisee.

Work could take shape in about a month.

The move will clear up space for future development west of Grand Wayne Convention Center. No word yet on what happens next for its restaurant neighbors, King Gyros and Rally’s.
