The Minneapolis punk outfit Off With Their Heads are no strangers to Fort Wayne, having performed here on numerous occasions, mostly at The Brass Rail. Any time I have seen them, the diehards were out and engaged in the fist-pumping anthems and their modern take on anthemic four-to-the-floor rock n’ roll.

The hard-touring entity just released a double LP compilation, Calm/Collected via Anxious & Angry Records that consists of their out-of-print acoustic records Won’t Be Missed and Character

With the new release in tow, OWTH will embark on a lengthy tour through August and September and will be a tad different than fans are accustomed to. These shows will be stripped down and acoustic and feature vocalist/guitarist Ryan Young and drummer Kyle Manning as well as fellow musician Seth Anderson. The three will be performing OWTH numbers in addition to a couple toe-tappers from Anderson. It just so happens that the tour kicks off in Fort Wayne on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 8:30 p.m. at The Brass Rail. How cool is that?

New Jersey singer-songwriter Sammy Kay will open the show, so be sure to arrive on time. Advance tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite.

Help Neon Straightjackets with music video

Neon Straightjackets are inviting everyone to The Muse on Main on Tuesday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m. for a video shoot and benefit concert.

That evening, they will be filming a music video for their upcoming single, “worryworryworry.” This one-of-a-kind event will run you only $5 at the door with proceeds going to The Muse and to help Neon Straightjackets with recording costs for their upcoming album.

Come out and show your support, and you may just find yourself in a music video. In addition, there will be pizza to ignite your appetite. Also, the band will perform their upcoming album in its entirety.

Death metal coming to Piere’s

Death metal veterans Cannibal Corpse will stroll through town Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. for a performance at Piere’s. They will be touting last year’s Violence Unimagined, their 15th studio album and first to feature producer Erick Rutan (Hate Eternal) on lead guitar.

The tour includes heavy-hitters Dark Funeral, Immolation, and Black Anvil, making this a bill you won’t want to miss. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at all Wooden Nickel and Neat Neat Neat Records locations and online at etix.com.
