Local musician slips into new band
Michael Thomas of the local cover band Decade Divide has added another band to his résumé.
A while back, he auditioned for the open guitarist spot in The Subliminal Verses: A Tribute to Slipknot based out of Chicago. Wouldn’t you know, he got the gig.
That’s pretty cool, as it’s not every day you get to see a Slipknot tribute band, and it will be an opportunity for Thomas to show off his guitar wizardry instead of the vocals we’re accustomed to seeing.
Thomas tells me the band have been rehearsing once a month and will start booking shows in the spring.
Next year is going to be the 25th anniversary for Slipknot’s self-titled debut album and the 20th anniversary of their third album, Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses), so expect them to put together some cool stuff.
Good job, Mike. We look forward to seeing this live.
