After acquiring Middle Waves last year, Embassy Theatre presented a toned-down Ripple at Parkview Field. With time to adjust, The Embassy has announced the music festival returns to Parkview Field on June 15 with Grammy-nominated Alvvays headlining.

Middle Waves Music Festival

Joining Alvvays will be Houndmouth, Pom Pom Squad, and Murder by Death, as well as former city natives Overlook, who are now based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Along with the music, local artworks will be featured in the Art Zone. There will also be a Creativity Zone where you can try out instruments and yard games will be in the Game Zone. A Vendor Zone will allow you to shop local items, such as stickers, candles, and jewelry.

General admission tickets are $40 and $10 for those 12 and younger. There will also be $60 VIP and $75 VVIP tickets available.

The indie pop Alvvays have been around since 2011, releasing three albums. Their latest record, 2022’s Blue Rev, featured the song “Belinda Says,” which was nominated for Best Alternative Music Performance, losing out to Paramore’s “This Is Why.”

Houndmouth is an alternative blues band out of New Albany, while indie-Americana act Murder By Death is out of Louisville, Kentucky, and indie rockers Pom Pom Squad hail from New York.

Overlook returns to Middle Waves, having taken part in the 2022 edition at Foellinger Theatre. Carson Bull, Colin Christenson, Sam Bellavance, and James Haines formed the rock band as Fort Wayne high school students in 2016 before moving to Nashville.
