Country queen of the late ’90s Shania Twain has announced a new album and a tour to support it.
The upcoming album, Queen of Me, is her first album since 2017 and only her sixth original album overall and is set for release Feb. 3.
The subsequent Queen of Me Tour, her first road trek in five years, kicks off April 28 in Spokane, Washington.
The five-time Grammy-winning star and best-selling female artist in country music will be in our region later in the summer, stopping at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, near Cleveland, on June 30, Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in the Chicago suburb of Tinley Park, Illinois, on July 1, and Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville on July 15.
Priscilla Block will open the Cleveland and Chicago shows while Breland opens at Ruoff.
Twain is donating $1 of every ticket purchased to her SKC organization, which she established in 2010 to provide services to help children in times of crises and economic hardship.
Day to Remember unplugs
A Day to Remember have announced details of their Reassembled: Acoustic Theater Tour, which will see the band performing catalog-spanning acoustic sets in intimate theater settings.
The new dates, which will feature special guests Wage War also performing acoustically, are set to get under way Nov. 28 in North Charleston, South Carolina, and include The Fillmore in Detroit on Dec. 11, Chicago Theater on Dec. 12, and The Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati on Dec 14.
European metal in the States
German power metal band Helloween will embark on their 13-date United Forces tour of North America in May with Swedish metallers Hammerfall.
Helloween released their self-titled studio album this year and singer Andi Deris commented in the press release, “We can’t wait to be back and celebrate our new album with our fans in the U.S.”
Meanwhile, Hammerfall released their latest album in February and simply stated, “You asked for it, so here we go!”
The pair of bands will stop at Royal Oak Music Theatre in the Detroit suburn of Royal Oak, Michigan, on May 24 and The Riveria in Chicago on May 26.
Leather attire is not optional.
Margo Price sets 32 dates
Grammy-nominated country singer-songwriter Margo Price will play 32 North American dates ahead of her third album’s January release.
That new album, Strays, is set for a Jan. 13 release and features appearances by Heartbreakers’ guitarist Mike Campbell, Sharon Van Etten, and Lucius.
The album is described as a “celebration of freedom in its many, feral forms,” as well as her “most layered, sonically ambitious and singular arrangements to date.”
Price’s tour launches Nov. 29 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and includes The Vic Theatre in Chicago on Feb. 21 and The Vogue in Indianapolis the following night.
Tre Burt is scheduled to open the shows.
Greensky picks through area
Greensky Bluegrass will be kicking off 2023 with a 16-date tour through the East Coast and Midwest.
Ahead of the tour, two previously scheduled shows planned at State Theatre in Kalamazoo will take place Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 25-26.
The Winter Tour 2023 launches Jan. 12 with a show in Buffalo, New York, and includes a stop at Agora Theatre in Cleveland on Jan. 25, Kemba Live in Columbus, Ohio, on Feb. 1, and a two-show stay at The Vic Theatre in Chicago Feb. 3-4.
