Ryan Adams has announced a fall and winter tour that will take him to Old National Centre in Indianapolis on Dec. 1, Andrew J. Brady ICON Music Center in Cincinnati on Dec. 2, MGM Northfield Park in Cleveland on Dec. 3, and Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit on Dec. 4.
Adams has been busy of late, as he released three albums this year, with FM and the double-album Chris released in March and Romeo & Juliet in April. The three albums follow his 2021 album Big Colors, which is the first part of the trilogy to Chris and Romeo & Juliet.
In 2020, Adams released his album Wednesdays, which was initially set for a 2019 release, but was pushed back due to sexual accusations made about him at the time.
Bang head with Accept
German headbangers Accept will be touring the U.S. for the first time in 10 years this fall, bringing classics like “Balls to the Wall,” “Princess of the Dawn,” and “Fast as a Shark” to new and established fans alike.
Last year, Accept released their 16th studio album Too Mean To Die, which landed them near the top of the charts around the world.
The aptly titled Too Mean To Die Tour North America 2022 will stop at The Arcade Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois, near Chicago, on Oct. 14; The Token near Detroit on Oct. 15; and King of Clubs in Columbus, Ohio, on Oct. 29.
“After two difficult years, we are very much looking forward to returning to the U.S.A. and playing in front of our American friends again,” guitarist Wolf Hoffman said in the press release about the tour.
Semi-Dream Theater reunion
While it won’t be a full Dream Theater reunion, guitarist John Petrucci will get back together with former drummer Mike Portnoy for Petrucci’s first solo headlining tour.
The pair of legendary prog rockers will be joined by another legend, bassist Dave LaRue of Dixie Dregs fame, on the instrumental tour.
The historic run has, unfortunately, just one scheduled stop in our region though, with a show at The Vic in Chicago on Nov. 13.
The recently reunited all-female Meanstreak will be the special guest openers for the tour. Meanstreak is comprised of guitarists Marlene Portnoy and Rena Sands, vocalist Bettina France, bassist Martens Myung, and drummer Yael, helping to deliver what is sure to be an unforgettable night of musicianship.
Debutants at music festival
Fort Wayne newgrass favorites Debutants will be a part of the upcoming Lightning Bug Music Festival Sept. 9-10 in Valparaiso.
Debutants will take the stage on Sept. 10, while Railroad Earth will headline both nights of music at Sunset Hill Farm, leading a lineup that also includes Ghost Light, The Lil Smokies, Cedric Burnside, Duane Betts, and two nights of Charlie Parr, among others.
The Lightning Bug Music Festival has a unique mission in that it aims to shed light on how important live music is for the mental well-being of fans and artists.
