Mac McAnally performs at The Clyde Theatre on Thursday, Jan. 9, bringing an eclectic catalog of songs to the Summit City. 

With a career spanning nearly five decades beginning in 1978, McAnally has charted two Billboard Hot 100 singles and six more Hot Country Songs as a solo artist. He also has one more charting single as a guest vocalist on Kenny Chesney’s cover of McAnally’s 1990 single, “Down the Road.” 

McAnally has also been named Musician of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards 10 times, including eight straight from 2008-2015.

The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member has also co-written several charting singles for artists including Chesney, Sawyer Brown, David Allan Coe, Alabama and Charley Pride. 

If you are still not familiar with him, just know that you have probably heard his work as McAnally spent many years as part of Jimmy Buffet’s Coral Reefer Band.
